Importance of Disguise in the Winter's Tale

In the latter stages of the play we see a significant amount of disguise being used to hide the identity of those who don't want their true appearance to be discovered.

In the play we see Polixenes and Camillo using disguise to go and see the shepherd because he got some news that his son has been seeing a girl associated with the shepherd. Also we see Perdita in disguise unknowningly in that she is of royal descent but she was living with the shepherd. In addition disguise also help in foreshadowing upcoming events that would have happened in the play. t can also be said that disguise helps to prolong the play because if the identiy of florizel was discoverd by his father(Polixenes) the play would have probably ended thhere without him even going back to Sicilia to speak with leontes.
