In this scene we find out that King Edward was ill. Queen Elizabeth, Lord Gary and Lord River are discussing about it. She wanted Richard and his brothers to be peacefully for once that is Queen Elizabeth. So Richard and Lord Hastings go into Edwards room and saw him.
Richard stays behind to see the two murderers he sent to kill Clarence. he then says "And thus I clothe my naked villainy / With odd old ends, stol'n forth of Holy Writ" that's just saying that he hides behind his Christian behaviour.
